Multilingual Finnish teenagers report from and challenge decisions-makers in SuomiAreena on July

Multilingual Finnish teenagers travel to Pori to find out what kind of future is being planned for the youth. They challenge the decision makers and other opinion leaders to take in consideration Finns from different backgrounds and at the same time they make societal debate open to Finns with different lingual backgrounds.

In Pori will be established a weeklong (16.-20.7) pop up-newsroom, which will report in teenagers’ language of what Finland is talking about. We want to open the doors for free conversation and exchange of opinions. Welcome to meet the newsroom’s work, share thoughts and build the better future!

In addition to reporting, teenagers will host a panel discussion at SuomiAreena’s BePOP-stage on Friday 20th July at 10 a.m. on topic “What is the ‘new normal’?” Minister of the Interior Kai Mykkänen, People’s Deputy Laura Huhtasaari, writer Maryan Abdulkarim, Project Manager of SAKKI ry Antti Seitamaa and psychologist Vera Gergov will participate in the panel. Hosts will be Aleksanteri Lindh and Zahra Sara Karimy.

During SuomiAreena, newsroom’s work can be followed on videoblog, on project’s Facebook-, Twitter- and Instagram-pages and on Cultura Foundation’s social media channels. Compendium of the media content will be found on Cultura Foundation’s webpage.

Multilingual Finnish teenagers -project is implemented in cooperation of Cultura Foundation and Mediakasvatuskeskus Metka ry and with the support of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Pop up-newsroom in Pori: Satakunnan Ohjaamo, Yrjönkatu 17, entrance from the pedestrian street.
